Arck Willowstep’s eyes never left Zap. He loved her, just like she did him. He missed her dearly. And part of him, no matter how much he wanted to forgive, blamed and hated Whisper Willowson for the cause of his death. He shook his white head in a mournful matter. He could feel the other spirits around him; Raise Sunbeam, Spear Darklight, Silver Spiritpath, Salena and his own brother, Firefly Willowstep. Arck’s heart yearned for a chance to go and see Zap, to talk to her. Hear her voice and look into her red eyes. He could do all that hear in the Realm of the Spirits, but it would seem all the more real if he were in front of her. Silver walked over to her friend and laid her tail on Arck’s shoulder. Arck, why do you keep mournfulness in you? The One’s mate asked. When the red-eyed wolf did not reply Silver went on, There is no need to mourn over those you left behind, my friend. They are still hear and you are still there. Arck shook his head in despair. I love her Silver. I left her… and now I think I need her by my side. I wish I was still there. But that would hurt her too much. Because then some time I would have to die again and that would be all the more painful. There were tears in the white wolf’s eyes. I wish I had never met Coal. I wish I hadn’t met Zap. It hurt him so much to say that. He went on, tears streaking down his scared face, I wish I had died that day when the tree fell down upon me.

Arck looks at her and sighs sadly. It is not true, Salena. But I wish I had known it would be this painful...although it wouldn't have prepared for me for what it feels like. He looked back at Zap and sighed again. There was one thing he did wish though, that he knew where Whisper was. He wanted to find out so then he could warn the Light wolves, if he could.

Spear's eyes were clouded. Her gaze was turned away from the wolves of the Light. She missed them. They was no darkness left in her. She was a Light wolf and sad to see herself go. But she could think of no better way as to die as to saving Spirit.

Salena continued to stare into nothing We are gone in body but not in soul, we will remain there for our family, and friends. Never forgotten...

Spear looked over at Ray regarding Salena's words. She nodded thoughtfully at them, yet said not a word.

That simple statement filled Arck with joy. Oh, how he longed to see Zap. He could see her but it was not the same. He gave Salena a nod. But silently he was wondering when.

Arck wondered away into the woods. He said nothing as he passed his sleeping brother.

Arck knew that Salena was following him. He turned and looked at her. His looks said all there was to say. He was miserable, and he wanted to know why she was following him.
