The she-wolf's eyes are closed. She stands on the rock edge that looks over the camp and the land beyond the camp. She loves it up here. Her pack mates don't bother her, usually. She loves the soft breeze that ruffles her white pelt. Now her eyes open. They are flaming red. She hates them, her eyes. She wants normal eyes, like the rest of her pack mates, not counting Zap. The she-wolf hangs her head and looks at the ground. She heard a voice in her head, speaking bitterly, You are a traitor. A sly grin appears on her face as she counters herself, No lie, I'm a traitor. To the Dark. Without realizing it she says it out loud. Even if she does know she doesn't care. She's a Light wolf now. Her name: Ranger.

Ranger jumped down from the edge a new feeling of acceptance running through her. She caught Zap's eyes and trotted over to her. Her head dipped and she said, 'Morning, Zap. The white she-wolf tossed her head and smiled. How are you on this lovely day? Of course it was anything but lovely. The sky was overcast. A soft breeze, turned to battering winds in a heartbeat and steady rain began to fall. Thunder was heard and lightening could be seen.

Ranger gave a flick of her tail. I'm fine. And...I'm a traitor. A sly grin came over the white wolf's face. It's no lie, I'm a traitor, to make it dramatic she paused. To the Dark.

Ranger's smile was sly, but her eyes were bright and happy. And proud of it! The she-wolf struck her nose into the air to show her pride. She thought, I am no wolf of the dark. How could I ever mistake myself for that?

Ranger grinned as Fiona walked over to them. Hello Zap, Ranger, she nodded to each wolf as she greeted them. Her red pelt was darkened from rain. She said, Come into the cave, it's dry in there.

Ranger and Fiona followed Zap. Spirit's eyes were clouded as he stared out from the mouth of the cave. His thoughts were jumbled. His own will to move on was dieing. He was failing. His white fur was ruffled and unkempt, it was dirty and a lust with burs.

Spirit rounded on her. Who are you to say!? What do you know about it?! Nothing! he snapped. You don't know how I feel, you don't even know if that is problem! The Light's alpha snarled over his white shoulder before he galloped out of the cave and into the woods. Akita watched the blurring picture of Spirit run away. What is he doing!? the Chosen thought. That idiot, the golden wolf muttered. Akita's mate, Mist, stirred beside him. What ever he's doing he must have a good reason for it, the white she-wolf said softly. I doubt it, said Neera bitterly. He is failing inside. We all know it. Her gaze traveled to Fiona and Quest, One of you will have to become alpha soon. And you, she looked at Akita, will have to be ready to step forward and take the place of the One.
